G Band [13 Oct 2006|10:52am]

[ music | The Draft - New Eyes Open ]

Its been nearly a month since I updated this thing, the truth is I've been rather busy! I've been working at burberry for a month on a temporary basis, it was originally for three weeks, I've got my head down and got stuck in and I've been offered a 6 month contract working in the production department so that starts on Monday! Really enjoyed it up to now and I'm looking forward to a pay rise!

I'm also really looking forward to the next month or so going to be so busy work aside! Saturday 11th November is a key date as we're recording some new songs and for once it's going to be less of a hectic rush (still a rush non-the-less!!) as we'll have a little bit more time to record. We still going by the same 'live' raw recording method as much as possible (because we like it) but it should be cool to add additional guitar parts / acoustic guitar parts / keyboaaaard and what not with the additional time we'll have ahem bought. We're recording a new version of spitfire jukebox, we completly rewrote it a bit ago it's got a better structure and it seems to have gone down pretty well and adds a bit of variation. Our songs seemed to be more developed now, I've got a better idea now of what I need to do for drumparts to make the songs what they are, it's just a case of playing for the song and not overplaying yet keeping things interesting by obviously not playing kick kick snare kick kick snare all the way through!!

New songs then are The High Wire, Arms Of The City. We are also recording an old favourite that we've been playing for well a year now! The exciting thing is after this we'll be heading across down afterwards that same day to play at the slug & fiddle near the ridings centre! So between then

Going into Castelford tonight to see Keith Burton & His Beef Curtain stopping at Reg's then we off to Leeds tomorrow morning where I'm intending to get my hair cut at toni & guy, hani or anyone, any suggestions as to style on a postcard please it really needs cutting and well maybe a new style I don't knowwww! Reg is off to see Paramore I might join him if I can somehow get a ticket on the cheap as it should be a good night out although they debatably aren't very good =D haha anyway its the bronx and the explosion next week as well as the draft and samiam!

Last night my angel empire played at this hotel in doncaster with the mighty g-bone or g-band as the misleading posters falsly advertised. It was a really good night we played very well and we seemed to go down well 100 times bettre than expected!! I was playing on this weird custom kit it sounded awesome but I couldn't position the drums how I normally have them on my yamaha but anyway I got through and we sounded really good I'm sure! The place we played at, the beatles played there and stayed. Downstairs there was this beatles themed bar that had a corrider complete with zebra crossing ala abbey road and loads of memoribilia adorning the walls. An unforgetabble experience, DONNY ON TOUR!

[ music | Milloy - Coup De Tait ]

Ok so I'm in a better mood today, it feels like a few more things are clicking into place, however grrr my internets PPP server is still down so here I am back in Pontefract Library oooh yeees. I went to the citizens advice bureau as planned this morning and I was told that no one is avaliable today so I'm going to have to call in another day unless orange freakin surprise me and god forbid get it sorted.

As far as things clicking into place go, well I'm now employed (temporarly) however its looking good so fingers crossed if things go well I might get kept on. I start on Monday so I better brush up on my Microsoft Excel skills. My typing skills I reckon have had a boost of late as my mp3 player decided it's database wanted to crash so I've had to start again in uploading my entire CD collection and also my mp3's. So as you can imagine I've been typing and double checking I've typed all the song titles in correctly and I've hardly got through my CD collection yet, yikes. The last cd I bought well... was actually a record, the new bronx on white vinyl, I've a actually started to make a list as soon as I get my first paycheck of the essential cds I need to get on ebay.. or even better a trip to manchesters vinyl exchange to go nuts.

I'm really looking forward to our gig tonight, my hands are still in a horrible state so I'm just praying tonight won't like damage them even more. Got a few things to sort out this afternoon and then going to Castleford to pick Mat up. Had a good night last night hanging out at xscape, we technically don't go to the cinema or the ski slope but we always find something to do there. I watched last days last night as well then ooh this morning in choices I saw elephant so I'm going to watch that at some point over the weekend. Walks are nice in this weather gees I have my shorts on in mid-september!

Today I was supposed to be attending a drop in session at the citizens advice bureau, well anyway I went this morning and there was a big sign on the door telling me closed for staff training, so I've now got to wait till friday to go. The reason for me going well is basically my broadband internet has been down for a month now, and everytime I ring orange to tell them there is still a fault it feels like nothing is moving. I've managed (by shouting at them) to get a months free (pretty pointless when it DOESN'T work) and they also sent me another 'livebox' even though the original one WASN'T broken. So basically when I was told at the end of one phonecall it would be sorted in the next 24 Hours and it wasn't and then I rang up again and they said '5 working days' i said balls to that and I'm now considering taking action as to getting out of a 12 month contract for a service I am not recieving yet still need to pay for unless I ring up and shout at a supervisor. Angry Justin

Anyway its still not fixed I keep getting the message that the PPP server is down hence trips to the library to check my email and that. If anyones on orange broadband and lives in my area (and is on the 8MB Line) give me a shout and we can go down and write some angry letters.

What is additionally frustrating at the moment is I've got my heart set on getting a job to tide me over for the next couple of years because admitiddly I don't know what I want to do in my life at this moment in time apart from play drums. I just want to concentrate on building a good CV and have experience and just keep the band going. So anyway back to the point I've got a lot of spare time at the moment so I've been using it wisely, it certainly helped at the moment as we've had a lot of gigs going off. Then again having said that our 'tour' has well just gone, the two bands we were orginally playing with have all managed to eithier split up or go on hietus, the band that has split up is still playing but they cannot really be going down to portsmouth so we've had to cancel that jaunt as well as the gigs in leeds and liverpool falling through. Its not been so bad as I think it's going to be for the best if we 'tour' in the future rather than now, but it would have been an awesome experience, i just feel though we'd be a lot better prepared and be a better band.

The gigs anyway over the past week have been nothing short of awesome both my angel empire and an invitation to an accident. My angel empire I can't get over that we've played more gigs than we have had practices and we still can pull stuff off in a not too shabby way. With aitaa we played an alldayer this sunday at the counting house which went really well, the day as a whole was pretty good although it was very very warm and tight, I was proper knacked after one song it was that intense. I'd bought the day before a 19" Z custom crash cymbal and it felt like hitting a brick wall as they are very heavy and feel very weird compared to the usual K's that I like.

After the gig on sunday I got talking to this girl who I've got to know very well but we kind of got a bit too close and I didn't do anything about it and now shes ringing me quite a bit and texting me and I do want to be friends with her but I don't like her in that way (hana this is sounding like yours haha I'm honestly not competing) so I'm going to tell her so well nothing else happens.

I've got an interview for a job, well actually several jobs tomorrow so I'm quite excited about that as hopefully at last something should be sorted. It's weird I just got a phonecall now about this so the whole library was rocking out to My Generation by The Who, you know that ring tone owns.

Before I go anyways as I've been on here a bit too long (livejournaaay) I designed some merch, well some back to the future badges we still working on the t-shirts. I'm looking forward to friday as we have this gig with calcutecs, jetpacks and the take and if last weeks pylon gig at the jockey is anything to go by this gig is going to be packed to the rafters. I'm really enjoying it at the moment, after every gig it feels like I'm going to keel over I dunno if I need to work on my stamina but it gets to the point like on Sunday and last Wednesday where I think I'm freakin going to die.

[ music | Vaux - Shot In The Back ]

So today I had an interview in the morning which basically involved three examinations, one based on grammer the second based on clerical skills and the final one involving computer commands. I think I nailed the computer commands part and did well on the others, it was a bit pushed for times on those though but I managed to get quite far so hopefully the ones I did, I did right. Afterwards I picked up my watch that got smashed from the watch doctor. It was about two weeks ago and I was at the swimming baths and when I was getting changed it slipt of my hand and when on the floor I turned it over it was completly 'toshed in'. Anyway the glass has been replaced and its like new =D

When I finally got home this afternoon the mail man had been and well those shockwaves products had arrived haha get in! I decided to go for a walk and here I am at the library. My angel empire gig tonight at the prince of wales in ponte which should be a good un, got practice tomorrow. Hopefully my internet situation should have reached some resolve tonight, hopefully my line will be sorted (if that is the problem by 6pm) then if not.. got to wait for a box to arrive. Sunday hopefully watching family guy with han and then Monday going with Reg and Katie to Leeds followed by gig in Wake at the bedroom. Should hopefully have that new song finished and ready for then too just hoping we can pull it off as we've well usually done ok first time we've played new songs.

Yesterday was very good indeed, as I mentioned before got that email to kick off the morning, followed by the UPS man turning up with a package for me, my new zildjian k 20" custom dark ride (the replacement for the one I cracked). The packaging was so mass intense it took me about half an hour to unwrap it. It seems shinier than the one i had before (not sure if its a brilliant finish.. its just probably a traditional but shiny because it's new as i've forgot what my other one looked like when it was brand new). I reckon anyway it will go all dirty like my other one, it sounded awesome. When I get a job I'm going to invest in another K crash (probably 19" or 20") as my other two spares are currently cracked and I don't fancy using my brilliant finish K all the time. I fancy a bigger ride as well after using that meinl one but anyway going to keep using that now and again despite it having a chunk out of it.

This entry was from last week.. unfortunatly just as I was writing this and talking to someone my broadband inadvertly disconnected.. then it wouldn't reconnect. It was that night where the rain was lashing down so I assumed that it was because of that. Well I waited and I waited and no joy it was still saying the PPP server was down. So a few phonecalls to orange and I kept getting fobbed off with a different excuse as to why it wasn't working, a few threats of cancelling my account and I'm having my line checked and being sent a new box.. by the end of this week, if there is still no resolve I'm cancelling my account because I am not paying £18 a month to have no internet access whatsoever apart from obviously duh when the librarys open and I do my computer programming skills to get on the sites I want at xscape et al.

Today then I've had a job interview as a supervisor/manager of a clothes store at xscape, they letting me know tomorrow but the interview seemed to go well. I've got a more important one on friday as a data intergrity officer.. I think the interview involves an exam as well as them asking me awkward questions. The test I'm assuming involves a spelling/grammer test of some description in addition to my B gcse in English as well as probably a typing test.

Last night we had practice, I think one of the best we've had definently, got a new song we should be playing next week as well as a reinterperation of spitfire jukebox that debatably sounds better than the original, its definently a different approach and I think the four of us and really liking the new version, anyway we'll see what people think!

Back in March I remember seeing an advert on television, a silly one involving a band playing and the lead singer getting hair in his face way too much. Anyway it mentioned a competition and I went on the website for shockwaves and you could upload a song that would get listened to by 'some dudes' and if they thought it was ok it would get put up on the site for people to listen to, download and well vote for. This morning I got an email saying we'd won one of this weeks prizes and that we'd won some hair styling products hahahahaha and anyway I had a look on the site and last week we came in the top 3/4 bands which is a plesant surprise

www.shockwaves.co.uk

click on band search on the menu then when that loads click on competition home.. our photo is there the one taken at xscape thats like a poloroid

head into the music gallery and then drops us a vote and maybe we could slated by nme.

aitaa in selling out shocker

This mornings really flown i got up at 9 and haven't done much since apart from get ready, have a bath, have a chat and deal with stuff online. Job search is a waiting game but I'm well occupied so it's not too painful at the moment, I would just like to be settled in a steady job though its just been frustrating when at the same time I'm having a right summer.

Septemeber's going to be really cool =D

Speilberg is going to sue me though

Looking forward to meeting some new people and playing in front of more people however not looking forward to the 6 hour drive to portsmouth, hopefully should have some dvd, service station action and music to make that breeze by. We're in guildford the day after which a little bit better. In terms of other dates on our 'tour' we were supposed to have some sorted in the north east but jetpacks are splitting up so not sure if they are going to happen, we'll see anyway. We had practice on saturday and just started work on two new songs as well as an acoustic verson of spitfire jukebox. Should have the new songs ready for september.

My angel empire at prince of wales wmc next thursday, so i think at the moment we have played more gigs than we have had practices!! ah well!

I really can't remember everything thats going off.. its odd to find a moment when I'm bored.. but then it's like within a hour of that everythings a complete u turn and I'm up to my eyes in things to do. Its so great at the moment though I'll write more in the morning. My angel empire played tonight at the loft at xscape we made loads of noise and went down surprisly or rather shockingly well despite playing after some hard rock bands who didn't really touch the distortion or broke any sticks!! I went for a bike ride earlier and I also sorted the wireless connection on my new laptop.

I right want to watch family guy or even a movie but I don't have earphone that extend as obviously don't want to wake the parents. So gig at the fenton in leeds tomorrow, its gonna be mass intense even though above them sadly have pulled out.

[ music | Tool - Right In Two ]

Just got it from the alldayer.. bit late for posting a flyer!

There we go.. anyway today has been nothing short of awesome, its been one of those days where everythings been great just been hanging out with everybody and all the bands were really really good. I think today we played the best we've ever played based on from what people said and just how it felt.. dripping in sweat and sticks nearly slipping out of my hands every two seconds aside. Its becoming a problem this summer has that.. like my sticks going everywhere, had some problems er basically replacing my stick if one goes flying but I think today everytime it happened I managed to deal with it a lot more 'professionally'than I usually have been doing. Proper had problems with cymbals breaking this year.. ok my brand new (as in since the new year) zildjian K custom ride.. has a massive hairline crack in the middle, so got to send that on monday to preston for replacement / shouting at zildjian if they don't. This happened on monday.. end of our set looked at my ride massive dint/crack gutted! So anyway I'm currently playing with half a set of cymbals that are cracked. I didn't use my zildjian ride today as obviously doing so would definently make the crack bigger and therefore probably making the chances of making a claim for a replacement unlikely. So what I've done is I've decided in the meantime as its going to be a month before I have a replacement, is to choose between the two ride cymbals kicking around here, the paiste one I've had for ages that I cracked at christmas or the Meinl 22" beast the drummer from underoath (I've mentioned this three times in my journal, apoligise again for mentioning it!!!!) infamously gave me. So I've plumped for the 22" beast and today it sounded awesome so going to stick with that hopefully it should hold out till september. It is cracked to fuck though seriously but it still sounds ok.. just would sound crap for recording but live its mass intense as I found out today!!

If possible I want my replacement to be a 22" going to push for it.. also been told despite K customs sounding awesome to give a Z custom a try as apparantly they take beatings better yet still sound mass intense. All the bands were well good today I think anyone who reads this and didn't go, you missed a treat!

Well we're working on some new songs at the moment, we've just been really really busy so we've not had time to work on these further but on thursday I think we're praciticing so that should get dealt with. I've just remembered as well.. I'm 21 on wednesday, as of yet not really got any plans apart from tuesday in regards to celebrating, any ideas would be much appreicated.. I do fancy going to pizza hut with some friends sometime this week so anyone who wants to invite theresens along your more than welcome, meat feast stuffed crust K thanks!

Tuesday then is the last !pushthepanic! night for the moment, I fancy doing some more, its just I'm really busy at the moment the last one was awesome however with a slight hiccup in regards to me forgetting raffle tickets and nearly like having to pay for a lot of things out of my own pocket.. thankfully things got sorted but I had to pay for the PA though! You live and you learn. I like the diy ethic of putting on shows just you know what its about, having a good night, putting on some good bands and also making the night a good un for friends and anyonelse who happens to be there.

Ok so much more to say, i need sleep though its like 3am now!!! Death from above split up yesterday gutted

Swimming tomorrow =D

Cheap Tattoo [24 Jul 2006|10:23am]
[ mood | tired ]
[ music | Eighteen Visions - Tonightless ]

Me Dale (GKB), Reg and his mate Chris went to party in the park yesterday as we scored free tickets so we couldn't refuse the day out! This summer has been so good up to now and I think yesterday had to be one of the highlights. I've never had so much fun in my car.. I mean things kicked with me assuming it was a bramham.. driving to bramham park and then being told 'justin it's at temple newsam' so then had to drive not too far back where we eventually found the revelent turn off for temple newsam. We also had the problem of not finding a cash machine.. like every one we found on the way like at asda and at a row of shops.. the cash machines all of them were broken =(

I have to brutally honest I didn't like any of the acts.. when one of them involves bands blatantly miming.. or holding instruments and not playing then its of no interest to me whatsoever... its especially doesn't appeal when the two bands I can namedrop that do less of the previous mentioned points are mcfly .. and rooster.. all I can say is at least they can play. I saw people in bring me the horizon t-shirts.. whats that about???? i had a theory that they might have done an 'eighteen visions' and might be making a guest appearance.

Anyway that aside we had an awesome day just hanging out and seeing if we could see anyone we knew, and so we did =D The way home I think basically involved a resounding climax and a woah woah sweet child of mine whats wrong with car.. anti climax. On the way out well it got a bit intense obviously with the traffic so we decided to put a bit of beastie boys on and see what wackyness my ill-equiped dare I say 'sound system' (13 year old at least) could achieve. Well achieve is a good word to describe the bass lines once the bass boost is on sounding like the twanging of rubber bands. Anyway some girls in the car in front kept looking and smiling so we thought it would be funny to erm bridge the gap in terms of communication beyond a wave and a smile. So ok I had a few pieces of paper lying in the back of my car so add a ballpoint pen and we have the opportunity for mischief. Their mum even waved so it was all in a bit of fun although we ended up coincidently on the same road for quite a bit of time! which kind of prolonged the antics. When we got into cas we also realised the same people carrier had been behind us.. also containing ladies so we (when i saw 'we', 'we' should exclude me from this as I was driving!! so both hands on the wheel) found some other people to have mischief with.

I dropped reg off and my car wouldn't start.... tried to give it a push and eventually it did get going.. but then as i got to a hill it cut out again. Trying to figure what was wrong.. it came to me that my car was low on fuel however it had not flashed or anything to let me know plus the dial well was in the red.. but had only just entered =I couldn't decide to problem was so rang the AA to be safe.. as we had a wait.. (not a long one) we went with the idea that the car must be lower than it thought on petrol so we had a walk to the nearest garage and filled her up.. same story it wouldn't start.. anyway AA man arrives tries at a fwew times and it starts and we are like =O whaaaat apparantly I needed to try it another few times and it would have worked.. but anyway we'd only just filled it up when he came so just had to fill out some paperwork and dealt with.

Got practice tonight and just a reminder (minor fall have pulled out due to the d-rail tour so they have been replaced for pushthepanic by virginia may theory.. featuring members of last days of vengance and carthirtyeight to name but a few!)

All the bands have mp3's online so go give them a listen!

Mass Intense [17 Jul 2006|11:49pm]
[ mood | amused ]
[ music | Red Knife Lottery - So Much Drama ]

Lack of updates means this ones going to be 'mass intense' saying of the week/fortnight right there!

I'll start with Monday, we played at the snooty fox with german band parachutes and it was a real cracker of a night. We've some good nights in aitaa but I think this just like clinched the best because basically afterwards it was a party! The gig itself went really well I think a contender for best gig we've ever played, especially with Joe on bass, everything seemed to go right I think it definently helped thanks to the good old drum monitors, not forgetting pink floyd bloody lighting! Anyway I think we played very tight and really nailed the songs!

It was cool hanging out with the german guys although a few of them couldn't get to grips with the accent! They weren't exactly my thing like but they put on a good show and were proper sound so hopefully next time they tour over here we can hook up again. Loads of people came down which was awesome so it was good to catch up with some people and just hang out. My hands basically got ripped after I played (blisters!!!).. I couldn't even cue the pool cue without like being like ooowwwww!!! We gave out some 'advance' lol copies of our ep to some lucky people so that really topped things off!

After the gig me and Sarah headed off to 'Buzz' which I've never been to before.. and it was quite a memorable night for a few reasons. Saw loads of people, as carthirtyeight for example had been playing at vivas on the same night so got chatting with some of them who'd came out, I also ended up jumping into Dan the drummer and I think he like cut his cheek on something which I felt proper bad about as I had no idea how it happened, I just jumped on his back when we were playing air guitar and next thing i know he turns around and he had a little cut =(

Saw loads of people in there and caught up with two guys from Parachutes, the merch guy and the bassist! So gave them a bit of an introduction and a tour.. and just when i'd er jumped on dan.. i decided to start some hardcore dancing to er i've forgot what song.. forgetting that I was on the low ceiling type tunnel bit I managed to like punch the ceiling full on and my hand was in agony!!! So nursed that for a bit was a bit in shock.. it got rather late and four people have called me a dirty stop out so we'll go along with that.. I managed to get home for 4.45am.. and I think I woke my mum so I was proper in trouble.. I wish I could have put the guys from parachutes up that night it would have been ace / got proper proper done.

Next day then my right hand/wrist is in a lot of pain.. the problem being that night was my angel empires second gig, I'd treated it with ice which didn't seem to do much I did further at the gig beforehand and somehow it felt a bit more comfortable, I was worried about having to play the drums kind of left handed.. like using my left hand to the pounding of the ride rather than my right.. anyway it felt well enough and once I'd had a bash around the kit it was fine. So MAE jees we played so well, everything despite the PA being it's usual bad self at the turks head.. went well I thought we really pulled off some of the songs and got a decent response as I'm sure despite us not being a shouty shouty shouty mass intense hardcore band it didn't mean people headed for the other room! Other bands were awesome so it was a pleasure to be opening for them, really enjoyed the gig despite the usual turks head technical problems.. who cares when you have a good time!!!

Afterwards I got plenty of fresh air and just had stroll around Pontefract and near the end of the night I caught up with steph who i've not seen in ages well we stopped out a bit late and then I took her home and we had a real heart to heart chat about life which was really good, they always seem to happen in the car when I'm driving but it just seems always a time when I can have a nice chat with someone (whoever happens to be in the car haha). Proper good anyway I've been busy going out regularly as its knocking the boredom firmly into touch and its been great meeting some new people as well as spending time with my friends.

If We Can't Speak [08 Jul 2006|05:47pm]

[ music | Poison The Well - The Realist ]

So today was all about recording. We've got 3 tracks done today and ones the brand new we've just written in the past week or two whereas the other two we actually recorded previously back in January/February but we didn't mix them as they had mistakes in! We done the same thing as last time its a live recording but with the vocals done seperate. It took about 2 hours and that also including mixing all the equipement up and recording dual vocals so I think we've done a good job. We've listened to the playback of the unmixed songs and they are sounding really really good like proper beefy and big sounding all things considered ( limited budget, limited budget!). I think once a bit of tweakings been done they will sound even better, should hear the results of those on Monday/Tuesday. Its been decided to put together a cd from these two recording sessions as our first 'demo'. We've chose Don't Expect Roses and obviously Spitfire Jukebox as we were happy enough with those but alongside them if all goes well with mixing we'll be adding the three new songs as well so the tracklisting will look a little something like this I presume! although we might put the new new song first as its got a string section opening which kind of sways its chances of being a possible opener for the CD. But anyway!

An Invitation To An Accident - S/T (Demo)

Spitfire Jukebox
Don't Expect Roses
All My Dreams Involve Superheroes
NEW NEW SONG
Where We're Going We Don't Need Roads

We'll be putting these online obviously so I'll put a link just in case I don't update this thing in a bit! http://www.myspace.com/aninvitationtoanaccident

I've really really enjoyed today anyway I'll update a bit later and maybe some pictures of my kit miked up and er cheap tattoo references

change of scenary [07 Jul 2006|06:40pm]

[ music | Zao - Lies Of Serpents, A River Of Tears ]

I've been working all week at a recruitment agency, unfortunatly though I've not been taken on any further so yes the job hunt continues. I wasn't too sure if that job suited me anyway I was finding it very monatenous I tried my best though and the operations manager spoke to me this evening and she was impressed with my hard work, just she felt I wasn't suitable.

This week has been really good outside of work, I've been rushed of my feet just general going out socialising and of course the band! We played in Pontefract last night and I thought we played really well! We did the new song as well so thats like two new ones in total we've added recently. It was like a sauna I can't belive that I managed to get up this morning at 6 and shower so I was well early for work!

We're recording in the morning and my hands are a right mess, I've got countless blisters and they are in pain!!!!I think I'm going to have to wear gloves or tape up in between every song tomorrow to get through it. I'm just considering wheather to drive my drums down this evening or first thing in the morning as we did that last time and it made the day after a lot easier as I wasn't spending ages setting drums up. We still working out what songs to record I think we are going to record 3 that will be on a cd with Don't Expect Roses and Spitfire Jukebox but we may also if there is time record the other songs we haven't recorded so we have them for reference and/or myspace action.

Sunday I think I'm going to Leeds again with Reg, followed by practice with My Angel Empire as we've not done so in worryingly a long time. Monday is the Aitaa gig at the Snooty Fox followed by possible night out at Buzz (what is the buzz about that place, bring me the hair extensions? tighter than tight jeans? dodgy 'ardcore' dancing? pink belts? etc etc) be right. Tuesday is MAE gig at the turks head which is going to be a right laugh!!

Today has been proper off the hook. Yesterday was pretty good the highlight obviously a night out in Pontefract which was a lot better than anticipated because I was intending obivously going to the Cockpit but finance and friends not being able to go meant Ponte it was! I saw this lass.. and she was like woah, I didn't talk to her though =(

Right my aunties been today and I tell you as soon as I need a new car because of the good old polo having it's day, I'm saving up for one of those new Beetles, sweet child of mine it's like sitting in an aircraft! This saturday me and mats off down to doncaster to look at his guitar amp he's on about buying, my aunties putting money towards a new crash cymbal for recording and that, so I'll have a full of set of Zildjian K's (and K customs roy, K customs) in massive sizes to tease Roy with. I also will be drooling over drumkits I will never own.. they best not have one of those vistalite ludwing things in see through orange or I will go leet. Oh and tomorrow I have an interview inbetween driving my dad to the airport as he's going to ireland for a couple of days. I'm gutted about not going because I've not seen my sister in years (shes a lot older than me, we aren't admitiddly that close mainly because shes never lived at home when I've been here on earth). Thats been bugging me recently so in the future i'm going to aim to do something about it and go see her in Ireland as soon as I can with work and what not. My interview is as a resourcer for a recruitement agency headhunter that 'deals' (deals being my word of the week) with Topshop and some other highstreet stores. I don't think I got the JJB sports, I was a bit gutted but I feel this one is going to better for my carrear despite not excatly being 100% golf related.

And to top the day off, we've got another freaking gig in July, get in!

Your supports much appreciated especially for this gig as we're playing with an (awesome) touring band from Germany on Lockjaw records, so we need everyone down!!!! come on people!!!

Got some shots from the last two aitaa gig's but they involve eithier my face being blocked completly by poles.. or like my drumkit deciding it wants me to play the bass drum at a 90 degree angle. Anyway on those photos it looks tiny, I never realised how small it actually looks! It certainly is still freakin' loud though!

Oh what to do today!

I got my university results yesterday I passed! I'm not sure if I'm going to graduation I'm put off slightly because I can't remember this form and plus me in a gown?? Hmmmm. Dave Rave's party was pretty good last night, had some entertainment and daves well good at DJ-ing!!! We practiced our acoustic set as well, but we do need Joe to do some backing vocals well I go 'leet' on the bongos. The songs mats wrote himself and amazing, he's bringing a cd out soon and I think he's going to record some acoustic accident songs, probably spitfire jukebox because that is 'proper beef'.

Han's done some tee-shirt designs so I'm looking forward to seeing them because I know they will be very good and probably will own mine, I've also got this idea similar to what I saw the merch lady for blindside do.. and I think han can help me with that as well! Just sorting out some stuff I don't really need so expect a little list of goodies I've got for sale sometime today!

Solutions [24 Jun 2006|12:11am]

Just got back from night out in Wakefield.. for once I came home a bit earlier I was feeling a bit tired! Had loads of fun watching france and toga.. last nights highlight reel of the referees blunders was comedy gold.. the 'rugby tackle', the hand of god part xxv, the mysterious third yellow card etc etc!!

above them were playing at escobar so we'd gone to see them, they were very tight so I hope well we can play a bit like that in months... years... to come! Missed out on O Fracas and their maracas and this et al and er their et al. Headed back to the jockey and as luck would have it we may have a gig on wednesday night in huddersfield at bar 120? (is that right).. Ian should be back off holiday by then however should he not be right or be working or whatever, we are going to play it acoustic as mats raring to go with his I am the dancer solo project. Party tomorrow at dave raves so I think I'm going to dig out.. The Bongo's , The Tamborine and The Cowbell for a bit of percussion action, going to practice tomorrow night at dave raves! We've got practice in the afternoon as well so it's obviously only going to be three of us as Ians in bulgaria. I'm really excited about our next gig, it's like every gig the excitement like goes up another notch, just trying to play as tight as I possibly can as long as my drums don't move or as mat will be keen to point out.. the sticks stay in my hand (they don't fly out of my hand that much.. seriously just now and again!). Ah well solutions involve a proper mat to put my yamaha kit on.. and also some kind of weightlifters dust/powder to put on my hands.

Anyway here is those 'preminairly' t-shirt designs I've got sorted, any good?

Interview this morning went really well my confidence has gone up somewhat. Beforehand I went with my dad into Comet and got hooked on playing this game on XBox 360 and looking at televisions for my room. Anyway onto the interview, it went pretty well had a few awkward questions that I think I answered pretty well and I'm very confident that I might have got this, we will see. Aside from golf related work it will also involve cycling and the complex has a gym.

I had to shave my beard to so I have well what remains of a moustache but the rest has gone. Tonight I think me and Mat are on about going to escobar to see above them and some indie bands. Got practice on Saturday and ooh I've been busy designing some possible t-shirts for AITAA so er next entry I'll post what I've done up to now!

For now - It's gonna rain!
